Chronicles - Entry No. 6 : Wicked Game | Crónicas - Entrada No. 6 : Juego perverso

(Wicked Game - Corey Taylor)

I wonder if he realizes what he does to me; if he’s conscious of the effect his charm has on my weak heart. He smiles, he winks and he laughs; it all breaks and repairs my soul at the same time. He’s like a drug, always keeping me high on love; yet tearing me to pieces dose by dose. And like a moth to a flame -through I know how much it hurts- I can’t resist his burn. So I wonder if he knows what he does to me by just being close; by just breathing. Every time he looks at me, my heart beats like crazy.

When I see that lovely, sexy smirk of his I melt on the inside; it makes me feel like an idiot but I wouldn’t change it for anything in the world. Sometimes I wonder if he smiles like that to anyone else, and that thought makes me sad. It’s stupid to feel like this, I know, but I can’t help this jealousy that threatens to eat me alive. I envy whoever plagues his dreams -if there’s anyone who does so. I wish I was said someone; I would give everything for that. But I know that it’s just a dream that will never come true.

I think about him day and night; I tremble whenever he’s around; I yearn for every last bit of information he provides; I get goose bumps when we touch. I just want to be with him all the time. The more he gives, the more I crave. It has come to a point in which I feel I’m going insane. All the dreams, all the fantasies, they’re not enough. I want more, I need more. I love him and it’s destroying me slowly, yet I can’t step away because he’s the only good thing I have in my life right now, so I can’t resign him…even if it hurts this much.

Chronicles - Entry No. 5 : Cosmic Deity | Crónicas - Entrada No. 5 : Deidad cósmica

(I'm with You - Avril Lavigne)

I always wondered what I did to make the universe angry; what I did to deserve destiny’s wrath. Is there a reason for all this of it’s just a random coincidence? How can someone’s life turn so sour with bad thing after bad thing happening to them? Did I do something to deserve this? Have I brought this on myself without even knowing it? I don’t want to think so and honestly, I can’t. I never did anything on purpose to have everyone I care about turn their backs to me; and even if I unintentionally did so, I’m sorry.

Still, I don’t think it is fair, nor right, for all this to fall on my shoulders. I can barely hang on at this point. It’s becoming harder and harder to just keep going through my life like if none of this was happening right now. I’m tired of lying and I’m sick of dealing with this stuff, having to put a fake smile for everyone’s sake. Because at the end of the day I know they don’t care; if they did, they would clearly see that I’m wearing a mask of false content and joy. I don’t know how much longer I can keep up this act anymore.

The only thing that I have left to cling to for dear life, like a beacon of light in the middle of the dark abyss, is you. You’re the only good thing that has happened to me this year so far; you’re the only one who makes me want to still get up and fight. Your smile is my sunlight; it shines the shadows away. But yet again that cosmic deity -God, the universe, destiny, or whatever that feeds on my sadness- is just playing with me, rejoicing with my struggles. Because it waves you in front of me and you’re still unattainable.

The End

______   ______   ______

No quiero creerlo y, honestamente, no puedo creerlo tampoco.

Chronicles - Entry No. 4 : Sunlight | Crónicas - Entrada No. 4 : Luz solar

(Gnossienne No.5 - Erik Satie)

It was a warm day in June, which was strange considering it was already winter. The sunlight filtered through the scarce clouds that still lingered on the sky. I remember how it felt to have the warmness of the light softly licking my skin and making me comfortable under it. It wasn’t suffocating but rather pleasant, quite odd for this time of the year. I’m not complaining; it was nice to have that kind of weather amidst the biting cold and pouring rain we had the past days.

I was cleaning at that time; preparing to receive some of my relatives who would be visiting to greet me for my birthday, which was the day before. I didn’t really want to see anyone, that’s why I didn’t throw a party for my family or my friends. I still felt depressed up at that point, so much that I didn’t want to celebrate my own birthday. Between the possibility of having to invite people who I didn’t consider close to me anymore, and that the few ones that I really wanted to see wouldn’t come…I just didn’t want that at all.

What made it worse was that you were one of those people; the one I wanted to have over at my house to hang out and have a great time with. I wanted that so badly that it hurt, like everything related to you. I still couldn’t help myself or my thoughts about you, and that added to my sorrowful mood. It was supposed to be a good day, a nice day, and there I was thinking about you; about how much I loved you and about how impossible it was for me to get you, even if you were the only thing I wished for upon a shooting star.

The End

______   ______   ______

Chronicles - Entry No. 3 : Howling Wind | Crónicas - Entrada No. 3 : Viento aullante

(Love - John Lennon)

I was lying down on my bed, having just been awoken by a Twitter notification at nine in the morning -way too early for me since I fell asleep at four in the morning-, listening to the howling wind outside my window clashing against it. It was a cold morning with a sky full of clouds that traveled at high speed because of the swift currents of wind lashing out at the city. I wanted nothing more than to stay in bed for the rest of the day, maybe even for the rest of the week.

It was Father’s Day, the day before my birthday. I tried to go back to sleep because I was really tired, but hearing my parents arguing kept me awake against my will. I always hated their heated arguments, they always made me sad. On top of that, I started to think about you, which is the last thing that I wanted because I knew that I definitely couldn’t go back to sleep then. The day before had been amazing, and that hurt too much; because I wanted more of it, more of you.

Instead of going back to sleep I stayed awake but didn’t get up until eleven in the morning. I didn’t want to walk in on my parents having an argument, and I already barely had any energy and motivation to get up. I did because I heard that we were going to my grandma’s to celebrate Father’s Day, and this made everything worse because I knew that I had to deal with even more. Getting together with a family that ignored me wasn’t my cup of tea. I would have rather stayed in bed thinking about how much I wanted to be with you.

The End

______   ______   ______

Chronicles - Entry No. 2 : Under the Rain | Crónicas - Entrada No. 2 : Bajo la lluvia

(Gnossienne No.4 - Erik Satie)

I was standing at the bus stop, waiting for the bus that would take me back home. It was a cold night; the air was chilly and heavy with the thickness of humidity. It didn’t take long till it started raining softly; the gray clouds were illuminated by the lights of the city, turning them a grayish purple shade. I could see the raindrops falling consistently thanks to the street lights, but I could barely feel them falling over me. I felt so numb that I could barely feel anything at that point.

Several thoughts assaulted my mind while I was waiting, disrupting my inner peace and breaking it into a million pieces; those thoughts were of you. I couldn’t help it, even if I wanted to; you were all I could think about. The idea of being so close to you yet not intimate enough tore at my heart without mercy. All I wanted was for you to close your arms around me that cold and wet night, making me feel warm and loved; making me feel safe and wanted like no one else did.

I looked up to the shimmer of the street light in front of me to see one last time the falling drizzle before boarding the oncoming bus. I was sad, heartbroken actually; because I loved you so much and you didn’t love me back. As I watched the arriving bus get closer, a fleeting thought crossed my mind. I could jump in front of it, in front of any vehicle and just end my life. That way I wouldn’t suffer for you anymore. I could’ve done it right there and then, and save me a longer life of sorrow and pain. I should’ve done it.

The End

Chronicles - Entry No. 1 : A Rainy Day | Crónicas - Entrada No. 1 : Un día lluvioso

(Goodbye Cruel World - Anathema)

It was a cold and humid day in June; the sky was full of dull clouds after an early morning of pouring rain. There was certain stillness in the air, no wind swaying the remaining leaves on the trees and bushes located in the quiet garden. There were still drops falling intermittently from the metal awning that hung over part of the patio, protecting the furniture that was placed there from the unyielding weather, which at that point seemed to be on the edge of unleashing its wrath once again.

Inside the quiet house, discomforting moisture clung to every surface it could reach. The stale air reeked of dampness; the rooms have not been ventilated in several days because of the biting coldness of the autumn –which was turning into winter. But that wasn't the only smell spread across their home; there was another one, more irony in nature. It was a smell that wasn't there before; one that never has been there at all. It was a sick essence of rust that no one had noticed because no one was there to do so.

In her room, messy and unclean, with clothes thrown over the desk chair and the bed, there was a pool of liquid on the floor, rotting and infesting the small space with an offending odor; an ocean of deep red that surrounded the isle that was her unmoving body. She was cold, as cold as the chillness of the outside world. She was still, as still as the leaves in the garden outside her window. She was dead, as dead as everyone she loved made her feel before she killed herself one quiet, cold afternoon of June; the day of her birthday.

The End

______   ______   ______
